Why do people laugh when I tell and show them that I can Irish dance?

Tons of people laugh at it like my friends and they seem like it’s very easy when it’s not. I have been river dancing for 9 years so I know that I am good but is there a specific reason why they laugh at it? I don’t really understand. I’m kinda embarrassed to say that Irish dance now do you think people who Irish dance are weird or it’s funny looking? Please give advice. Thank you.

              why do you people show sympathy towards visually challenged people but laugh at the deaf people?

              whenever we see a blind man, we show sympathy and try to help him/her. but where as in the case of deaf people, we don’t show any sympathy but laugh when they could not hear properly and give an answer not pertaining to our questions.
              this happens in our country India.
